Fatal Traffic Accident at 9000 Southwest Freeway March 15, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 9000 block of the Southwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 South) service road about 6:05 a.m. on Saturday (March 13). The identity of the victim, who was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and pronounced dead, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer D. Harwell reported: The driver of a Chevrolet Suburban and three passengers were traveling northbound on the Southwest Freeway service road when the driver lost control of the vehicle while trying to get on the freeway. The Suburban rolled over and a passenger (the victim) was ejected. The driver and two other passengers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
