Fatal Traffic Accident at 5800 South Loop East March 1, 2010 - A female motorist injured in a traffic accident in the 5800 block of the South Loop East (Interstate Highway 610) about 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 15 has died from her injuries. The female driver sought medical treatment the next day, Feb. 16, for injuries she had sustained in the accident. She was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital on Friday (Feb. 26). Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J.P. Miller reported: Southeast Patrol Division officers were told the victim was traveling eastbound on the South Loop East, in a pickup truck, when she was struck from behind by a Dodge Ram truck. Officers spoke to both the victim and the other driver, and neither claimed injuries or requested medical assistance. Both drivers exchanged information. The following day, the victim complained of a headache and was transported to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital, and then taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The investigation is continuing.
