Suspect Arrested in Fatal Stabbing at 10901 Telephone Road

March 1, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 10901 Telephone Road # 121 about 5 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 27).

Richard Wayne Thomas (b/m, DOB: 1-3-72) is charged with murder in the 183rd State District Court. He is charged in the killing of Gregory Paul Cruise Jr., 23, of the above address, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. M. De La Cruz and Senior Police Officer X. E. Avila reported:

Officers responded to an assault call and found Mr. Cruise had been stabbed by an unknown suspect(s) inside his apartment. HFD paramedics arrived and pronounced Cruise dead at the scene.

Investigators conducted a search of the apartment complex and located a suspect (Thomas), along with physical evidence. Thomas was arrested without incident.
