Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 8110 Boone Road March 1, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8110 Boone Road about 2:10 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 27). The suspect, Carlos Demond Williams (b/ m, DOB: 10-12-83), is charged with murder in the 182nd State District Court, accused in the killing of Joseph Van Johnson, 34, of Houston. HPD Homicide Division Sergeants D.A. Ferguson, T.M. Biggs, Senior Police Officer T.S. Tyler and Officer M. Brady reported: Mr. Johnson, an employee of Club Yum Yums at 8110 Boone Road, was shot as the club was closing for the night. Johnson was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Williams was arrested about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday on an unrelated charge of theft by check. He was subsequently charged in the shooting of Johnson.
