Fatal Shooting at 13612 Almeda June 18, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 13612 Almeda about 11:50 a.m. on Thursday (June 17). The victim, Derrick Melvin, 34, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.C. Padilla and Officer T.A. Andrade reported: Houston firefighters called police to the above address upon discovering Mr. Melvin deceased. The investigation revealed that Melvin’s vehicle was missing. It is a gray 2006 Chevrolet Impala with Texas license plates 979-VPK.
