HPD Truck Enforcement Unit Safety Operation Tomorrow June 9, 2010 - At 1 p.m. Tomorrow (Thursday, June 10), the Houston Police Department Truck Enforcement Unit will conduct a Truck Safety Operation on the northwest side of the city. The event will be held at the Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) service road at Mangum, in the parking lot of Delmar Stadium. HPD Truck Enforcement Unit officers will be inspecting commercial vehicles to ensure their loads are properly secured. Commercial trucks transport goods and supplies throughout the City of Houston every day and this enforcement assures those trucks comply with required regulations. Trucks overloaded or improperly secured cannot stop efficiently and have difficulty making turns, which can cause these vehicles to overturn and threaten public safety on our roadways.
