Fatal Traffic Accident at 16700 Katy Freeway

July 19, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 16700 block of the Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 2:30 a.m. on Saturday (July 17).

The male victim, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer R. Bymaster reported:

Witnesses said the victim was driving a black Toyota Tundra eastbound on the Katy Freeway service road when he lost control of the vehicle, which then rolled over several times.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene and two passengers were transported to area hospitals.  

The investigation is continuing.
