Fatal Traffic Accident at 15900 Eastex Freeway Service Road

July 9, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 15900 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) service road about 1:30 a.m. today.

The two female victims, ages 13 and 16, were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities are pending notification to next of kin by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer V. McLean reported:

The driver of a silver Toyota Camry was northbound on the Eastex Freeway service road when he ran a red light at the intersection of the North Sam Houston Parkway service road, striking a Ford Excursion traveling eastbound. Three of the Ford’s seven passengers were ejected from the Ford, including the two teenage girls.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
