Investigation into Shooting at 6767 Bennington

January 08, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 6767 Bennington about 3 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 7).

The victim, 21, suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Williams and Officer M. Khan reported:

Two unknown male suspects forced their way into an apartment of the victim and another male. The male saw one of the suspects was armed, ran down a hallway and jumped out a window to escape. The victim, who had been asleep on the floor, got into a struggle with one or both of the suspects. At some point, a shot was fired and the victim was struck. Both suspects fled the scene in a burgundy or purple sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Impala or Lincoln Towncar, in an unknown direction.

The suspects are described only as two black males. One is 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a stocky build and dressed in black. The other suspect is 6 feet 5 inches tall, with a slim build and wearing a hoodie and black jeans.
