Suspect Sought in Fatal Shooting at 9618 Marlive
January 04, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 9618 Marlive about 12:55 a.m. on Friday (Jan. 1).
The suspect, Leandro Lozano-Jiminez (H/m, DOB: 2-27-89), is charged with murder and aggravated assault with serious bodily injury in the 178th State District Court. He remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. A photo of Lozano-Jiminez is attached to this news release.
The deceased victim, Uvaldo Gallardo, 18, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. His brother, Hugo Gallardo, 25, suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.

According to witnesses, Uvaldo and Hugo Gallardo got into an argument with suspect Lozano-Jiminez while trying to protect a friend who was being picked on by the suspect. Lozano-Jiminez and the Gallardos had just ended the disagreement when Lozano-Jiminez pulled out a .40-caliber pistol and shot both Uvaldo and Hugo. The suspect then fled the scene.
Lozano-Jiminez may also have been involved in a burglary in the same area on Dec. 27 in which a .40-caliber hand gun was stolen.
Lozano-Jiminez is known to be a drifter in Stella Link-Link Valley area. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 222- TIPS.
