Investigation Into Fatal Traffic Accident at 12500 North Freeway February 18, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 12500 North Freeway (Interstate Highway 45 North) about 5:50 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 14). The male victim, 28, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and pronounced dead on Wednesday (Feb. 17). The release of his identity is pending notification to family members. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J.P. Miller and Officer B.J. Banks reported: A grey Jeep Grand Cherokee and a tractor trailer truck were traveling southbound on the North Freeway at a high rate of speed when the Jeep’s driver struck the flatbed trailer of the truck. The driver of the Jeep suffered severe injuries and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, three days later.
