Charges Filed in November 2009 Infant Death February 16, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the death of a baby boy at 7170 Parker Road #1008 on November 14, 2009. The suspect, Lakara Edwina Shepherd (b/f, DOB: 11-15-88) is charged with capital murder in the 178th State District Court. She is accused in the death of her son, Lyndin Shepherd, five months, of the above address, who suffered blunt head trauma. Baby Lyndin was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital where he later died. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. J. Blain and Officer E. H. Schmidt reported: On Nov. 14, baby Lyndin was taken to the hospital for injuries he received when his mother, Lakara Shepherd shook him repeatedly until he stopped crying. Doctors pronounced Lyndin dead on Nov. 20. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and determined the baby’s death to be blunt head trauma. Shepherd was arrested today (Feb. 16) and admitted to investigators her involvement in baby Lyndin’s death.
