Investigation Into Fatal Traffic Accident at 7900 Park Place February 16, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 7900 block of Park Place about 6 a.m. on Thursday (Feb. 11). A male pedestrian, 69, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A.C. Francois and Senior Police Officer O.D. Lewis reported: Officers responded to an auto-pedestrian accident in the 7900 block of Park Place at the intersection of 3900 Colgate. Witnesses stated a male pedestrian attempted to cross the intersection using a walker, and on several occasions, stopped in the middle of the roadway while vehicles passed by. The driver of a white Ford Escape, traveling eastbound on Park Place, hit the pedestrian. The driver stated that due to bad weather, wet roads and poor lighting, he did not see the pedestrian.
