December 28, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4400 block of East Crosstimbers about 3:20 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 26).

The female victim, 40, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Love and Officer C. Sartor reported:

The victim was driving a maroon Mitsubishi Galant eastbound on Crosstimbers near Pointer Street.  For an unknown reason, she lost control of the vehicle and struck a large tree.

At this time, there are no indications the driver was impaired.  The investigation is continuing.
