December 28, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4300 North Macgregor Way about 12:50 a.m. on Friday (Dec. 24).

The female victim was identified as University of Houston Police Officer A. Odonnell.  Officer Odonnell was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer N. Rosenblatt reported:

Officer Odonnell was in her patrol vehicle responding to an abduction in progress call and traveling westbound in the 4300 block of North Macgregor Way when she lost control of her vehicle.  She failed to stay in her lane and struck a tree on private property.

The investigation is continuing.
