Fatal Traffic Accident at 11900 Westheimer

December 13, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 11900 Westheimer about 12:15 p.m. last Friday (Dec. 10).

The identity of the male victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Insitute of Forensic Sciences. He was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Gonzales and Officer A. Michon reported:

The victim was on a bicycle and attempted to cross the street without a crosswalk at 11900 Westheimer when he was struck by the driver of a green Ford Explorer. The vehicle was exiting a private parking lot and heading east on Westheimer when the accident occurred.

Neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident. No charges are expected to be filed as the investigation continues.
