Fatal Traffic Accident at 9200 South Freeway

December 10, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 9200 block of the South Freeway (State Highway 288 South) service road about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday (Dec. 9).

The male victim, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Senior Police Officer T. Turner reported:

The victim was driving a tan Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on the South Freeway service road when he failed to stay in a single lane. The Chevrolet then drove on to uneven grass and rolled over. The driver was ejected and died at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
