Fatal Traffic Accident at 11600 Almeda Road
August 27, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 11600 Almeda Road about 1 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 26).
The male victim, 65, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Law and Officer R. Veal reported:
The driver of an 18-wheeler was stopped in a southbound lane on Almeda, waiting for traffic to clear in order to make a left turn. The driver of a white Ford F-250 pickup truck was traveling southbound on Almeda when he struck the rear of the 18-wheeler. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.
The investigation is continuing.
