Fatal Traffic Accident at 12500 South Freeway April 26, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 12500 block of the South Freeway (State Highway 288 South) about 11 a.m. today. The male victim, age unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G.T. Hall and Officer D. Kizzee reported: A blue Ford pickup truck was traveling south on the South Freeway when the victim ran into moving traffic and was struck by the Ford. Witnesses stated the victim had been running into oncoming traffic prior to the accident. An abandoned vehicle was found nearby and towed from the scene. It is believed this vehicle might have belonged to the victim. The investigation is continuing.
