Apparent Suicide at Northwest Freeway And West Loop North April 1, 2010 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on the apparent suicide of a man found at the Northwest Freeway (U.S. Highway 290) near the West Loop North (Loop 610 West) about 5:30 a.m. today. The male victim, 20, suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was pronounced dead Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Senior Police Officer A. Palos reported: The victim was a front seat passenger in a vehicle traveling inbound on the Northwest Freeway near the 610 Loop interchange. Witnesses in the vehicle told police the victim shot himself. They called 9-1-1 and transported him by private vehicle to the hospital. . There is no sign of foul play in this incident, at this time.
