Investigation into Male's Death at 8300 Jorine

September 23, 2009 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man in the 8300 block of Jorine about 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 22).

The identity of the male victim and his cause of death are pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Williams and Officer M. Khan reported:

Patrol officers and neighbors noticed a fire in one of the apartment units at 8300 Jorine and called HFD. After the fire was extinguished, the victim was found deceased inside one of the units. A female inside the same unit was able to get out and was found in the driveway outside the building. She was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for burns and smoke inhalation.

The HPD Homicide Division will assist the HFD Arson Unit in the investigation of this case.
