Fatal Hit-and-Run Traffic Accident at 2700 State Highway 6 South

September 21, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident in the 2700 block of State Highway 6 South about 3:55 a.m. on Saturday (Sept. 19).

The identity of the deceased male pedestrian, 61, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer I. Jefferson reported:

A preliminary investigation indicates the pedestrian was crossing the street when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The driver of the vehicle then fled the scene without rendering aid.
