Charges Pending Against Suspect Wounded at 10000 Westpark September 21, 2009 - Charges are pending against a burglary suspect wounded by a Harris County reserve deputy constable about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday (Sept. 19). The suspect, Nicolas Bustos (H/m, DOB: 2-2-91), was shot one time and transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition. He and three other male suspects, one of them a juvenile, were arrested at the scene. Bustos and two adult suspects, Oscar Ramirez (H/m, DOB: 11-2-88) and Edgar Hernandez-Gonzalez (H/m, DOB: 9-2-92), are facing charges of burglary of a motor vehicle. The juvenile is being referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation Department authorities on the same charge. The reserve deputy constable, D. Villareal, who works for the Harris County Precinct 6 Constable's Office, was not injured. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Harris and Senior Police Officer T. Tyler reported: Reserve deputy Villareal was working as a security officer in the parking lot at 10000 Westpark when he saw individuals inside his vehicle and shouted at them to stop. All four persons complied, except for one (Bustos) who ran off. Bustos then turned, reached under his shirt and Villareal, fearing Bustos was reaching for a weapon, discharged his weapon one time. Bustos was struck and transported to the hospital. The three other suspects provided confessions on their roles in the burglary of the vehicle. As is customary with officer-involved shooting incidents in the city limits, the case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division and the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
