Fatal Shooting at 5720 Rampart

September 21, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 5720 Rampart about 2 p.m. on Sunday (Sept. 20).

The deceased male victim, 29, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. The other male, 26, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Howard and Officer J. Robles reported:

The victims were on the sidewalk in front of the Peachtree Apartments at 5720 Rampart when several unknown male suspects shot at both men. A vehicle parked near the victims with several females inside was also struck. The females were not injured.

The suspects are described only as Hispanic males.
