Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Accident at 6900 South Loop East

September 8, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6900 block of the South Loop East (Interstate Highway 610 Loop) service road about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 6).

The male victim, a bicyclist, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I Izaguirre and Officer A. Hart reported:

The victim was riding his bicycle eastbound in the far left lane of the South Loop East service road when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle then left the scene in an unknown direction.
