Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting at 8600 South Course Drive

September 4, 2009 - Charges are pending against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 8600 South Course Drive about 4:15 p.m. on Thursday (Sept. 3).

The suspect, Senecca Rafael Ratcliff (b/m, DOB: 6-19-88), faces charges of felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.

One male victim suffered a gun shot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identification is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Officer. A second male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the neck and was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. M. Bush and Officer C. D. Sturdivant reported:

Ratcliff shot two males at the Victoria Park Apartments at 8600 South Course Drive. He was later taken into custody at 10500 Elmsworth without incident.
