Fatal Traffic Accident at 5800 Telephone Road

October 29, 2009 - A pedestrian critically injured in a fatal traffic accident in the 5800 block of Telephone Road about 7:25 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 9) has died from his injuries.

The male victim, 55, was pronounced dead on Tuesday (Oct. 27) at Ben Taub General Hospital. His identity is pending notification to family by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer R.E. Perez reported:

A white Chevrolet Silverado was making a left turn at the intersection of Telephone Road and Dixie Drive when the victim stepped into the street and was struck by the vehicle. The victim was then transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation is continuing.
