Fatal Traffic Accident at 11500 South Main

October 21, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 11500 block of South Main about 12 a.m. today.

The male victim, Jaime Mendez, age unknown, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he later died.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Southwest Patrol Division Officers C. Crosby and A. Joseph reported:

According to witnesses, a red Toyota Camry, driven by Mr. Mendez, was traveling southbound on Stella Link when the driver turned right onto South Main Street, struck a curb and lost control of the vehicle. The Toyota continued eastbound on South Main and then struck a telephone pole on the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The investigation is continuing.
