Fatal Traffic Accident at 1900 North Loop West

October 5 , 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 1900 block of the North Loop West (Interstate Highway 610 North) about 11:20 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 2).

The male victim, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer D. Ashford reported:

The victim was driving a silver GMC Sierra pickup truck west bound on the North Loop West at a high rate of speed when he struck a black Nissan Altima, which then struck a silver Lexus RX35. The GMC then lost control, went onto the grassy median and rolled over. The victim was ejected from the GMC and died at the scene. The two adults and two children in the Altima and the occupants in the Lexus were not injured.

The investigation is continuing.
