Fatal Traffic Accident at 4300 South Loop East

November 16, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 4300 South Loop East (Interstate Highway 610 South) about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 14).

The female victim, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer R. White reported:

The female victim was driving a blue Pontiac GT westbound on the South Loop East when the vehicle struck the middle concrete barrier. Evidence from the scene indicated the Pontiac was not hit by another vehicle. There was indication the driver was eating prior to the accident. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

The investigation is continuing. There are no known witnesses at the time.
