Charges Filed in Fatal Traffic Accident at 2400 Grant

May 26, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 2400 Grant about 11:45 a.m. on Monday (May 25).

The male victim, James Spreckels, 57, of Houston, was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect, Sean Christopher Davis (b/m, DOB: 9/30/87), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 230th State District Court.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Casares and Officer J. Brashier reported:

The suspect, Davis, was fleeing a traffic accident near Bar 611, located at 611 at Hyde Park.  Davis had left the bar, struck a green Toyota Camry, and fled the scene.  While fleeing, Davis ran a stop sign at 2400 Grant and struck a green Ford Explorer driven by Mr. Spreckels.

Davis was taken into custody and treated and released from Christus St. Joseph’s Hospital.
