Investigation into Male's Death at 1400 Shepherd

May 26, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the death of a man found in the 1400 block of Shepherd about 12:30 a.m. today (May 26). 

The victim suffered severe trauma to the head and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity and cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. 

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer B. D. Evans and Officer K. Lopez reported: 

A passer-by was walking along the sidewalk in the 1400 block of Shepherd, found the victim lying in a section of shrubbery next to a warehouse and notified police.  The victim appeared to have been severely beaten.   An instrument believed used in the incident was recovered at the scene.
