Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 7904 Homestead

May 22, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 7904 Homestead on May 12, 2009.   

The suspect, Anthony Deon Pouncy (b/m, DOB: 5/13/79), is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 351st State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Tyre Piper, 35, of Houston.  Mr. Piper suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers J. Rodriguez and J. Barringer reported:

Piper and Pouncy were arguing at a carwash on 7904 Homestead when Pouncy produced a gun and shot Piper.  Two bystanders also suffered gunshot wounds and were transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.  

Further investigation identified Pouncy as the suspect in this case and on Tuesday (May 19), he was taken into custody.
