Two Suspects Arrested in Male's Death at 9713 Dulcimer May 22, 2009 - Charges have been filed against one suspect arrested and are pending against another in the fatal shooting of a man at 9713 Dulcimer about 8:05 p.m. on Saturday (May 16). One suspect, Jonathan D. Canfield (b/m, DOB: 6-21-86), is charged with capital murder in the 338th State District Court. Another suspect, Perry Antwine Lowe (b/m, DOB: 12-8-88) also faces a capital murder charge. Both are accused in the killing of Daniel Mario Towns, 40, of Monroe, Louisiana. Mr. Towns suffered a gunshot wound to the head and died at Ben Taub General Hospital on Sunday (May 17). One or two other unknown suspects involved in this incident remain at large. HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Khan and T. Pool reported: Mr. Towns and a friend were staying with a local friend at 9713 Dulcimer when they arrived at the house and were surprised by suspects already positioned in the house to rob the men. During the robbery, Towns was shot in the face and the friend was forced into a closet. The suspects, described only as three or four black males in their early 20s, immediately fled the scene. The friend was able to call nearby relatives who transported Towns to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead after undergoing surgery. Further investigation identified Canfield and Lowe as the suspects in this case and on Thursday (May 21), both were taken into custody. The remaining wanted suspects are described only as two black males in their early 20s.
