Fatal Traffic Accident at State Highway 6 at Briar Forest

May 22, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at the intersection of State Highway 6 South at Briar Forest Boulevard about 3:25 a.m. today (May 22).

The identity of the deceased female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Casares and Officer D. Schlichter reported:

The operator of a blue Suzuki MC motorcycle was eastbound on State Highway 6 when he ran into the back of a blue Kia sedan.  The impact injured the motorcyclist and his female passenger.  Both were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where the female was pronounced dead.  The male was in serious condition and underwent surgery.  The driver of the Kia was not injured. 

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.  The investigation is continuing with no charges filed at this time.
