Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5800 Hollister

May 14, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 5800 Hollister #2108 about 4:05 p.m. Wednesday (May 13).  

The victim, Jessie Whitfield, 57, of Houston suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital.    

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant P. Munoz and Officer Leon reported:

Three suspects kicked in the front door at 5800 Hollister #2108, armed with guns. One of the suspects held a female and her daughter at gunpoint downstairs while the other two suspects went upstairs. While upstairs one of the suspects shot multiple times through a bedroom door, shooting Mr. Whitfield one time. The suspects stole property and fled the apartment in an unknown direction. Whitfield was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

All three suspects are described as black males and one is described as being five feet eleven inches tall and approximately 240 pounds with a beard.
