Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 6363 West Airport May 14, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 6363 West Airport about 11:40 p.m. on Sunday (May 10). The suspect, McKinley Levonte Lewis (b/m, DOB: 9-6-76), is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Reginald Thomas, 26, of the above address. Mr. Thomas suffered a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other male suspects wanted in this incident remain at large. HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers R. Chappell and R. Moreno reported: Mr. Thomas was in his apartment when two unknown suspects knocked on his door. Thomas left his apartment to meet with the suspects to whom he was reported to owe money. Thomas was shot after leaving his apartment and found dead in the parking lot. Further investigation developed information that identified Lewis as the shooter in this case and on Wednesday (May 13) he was arrested without incident. The two wanted suspects are described only as black males, 20 to 35 year of age.
