Fatal Shooting at 6000 West Tidwell May 7, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found in the 6700 block of West Tidwell about 9:45 p. m. on Wednesday (May 6). The victim, Matthew Christon Creech, 24, of Houston, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Torres and Senior Police Officer S. J. Anderson reported: Patrol officers responded to a traffic accident in the 6700 block of West Tidwell and found one of the drivers (Mr. Creech) had been shot. It is believed Creech was shot at or near a convenience store or apartments located in the 6000 block of West Tidwell as he was driving away. Further investigation and witness statements determined Creech was going to the convenience store for a second time that day to buy narcotics. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.
