Charges Filed in Fatal Stabbing at 8791 Hammerly #232

March 31, 2009 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the stabbing of a woman found at 8791 Hammerly #232 about noon on April 30, 2008.

The suspect, Jeremy Shane Lee (b/m, DOB: 4-6-81), is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court. He is currently in the Angelina County Jail on a drug charge. The victim, Arlett Bennett, 26, suffered stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, inside her apartment.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Officer J. Sosa reported:

When Ms. Bennett failed to show up for work on the morning of April 30th, 2008, her employer tried to contact her on her cell phone but received no answer.  Her employer contacted Bennett’s family who then went to check on her welfare by going to her apartment where they found her deceased.
