Investigation into Abandoned Baby at 6111 Winsome Lane

March 18, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the discovery of an abandoned newborn female at 6111 Winsome Lane about 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday (Mar. 17).

The baby girl was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital and is reported in good condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Howard and Officer J. Johnston reported:

The baby, a black female, was found abandoned in a broken dryer next to a dumpster at 6111 Winsome.  She was wrapped with a towel inside a trash bag and then placed in the dryer. 

At this time, the mother of the infant is unknown.  It is believed she gave birth to the girl sometime between Sunday (Mar. 15) and Tuesday.
