Fatal Traffic Accident at 9700 Southwest Freeway at Bissonnet

March 4, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident on the Southwest Freeway (U.S. 59 South) service road near Bissonnet about 12:35 a.m. today (Mar. 4).

The name of the deceased male victim, 26, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer D. Brown reported:

The victim was driving a Chevrolet Malibu inbound in the 9700 block of the Southwest Freeway service road when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole.  The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The investigation is continuing.
