Suspect Arrested/Charged in Fatal Traffic Accident at 16400 Eastex Freeway

June 22, 2009 - A suspect has been arrested and charged in a fatal traffic accident at 16400 Eastex Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 North) about 3:45 a.m. on Saturday (June 20).

The suspect, Rogelio Garcia Ramos (H/m, DOB: 2-14-60), of Humble, is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 176th State District Court.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J.M. Chambers and Officer M.J. Reyes reported:

A disabled blue Toyota was parked on the right shoulder of the Eastex Freeway northbound when the black Ford F250 pickup truck driven by Ramos struck it.  The driver of the Toyota died at the scene.
