Fatal Traffic Accident at 6600 Carver

June 8, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 6600 block of Carver about 8:35 p.m. on Sunday (June 7).

The female victim, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Chambers and Officer J. Linn reported:

A Chevy Impala was traveling southbound on Carver at a high rate of speed. The driver of the Impala lost control of the vehicle and drove into the ditch on the west side of the street. The Impala then struck a concrete drainage pipe, which caused the vehicle to flip over. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other occupants in the vehicle sustained minor injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
