Investigation into Shooting at 7025 Longview

July 16, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female and the wounding of a male at 7025 Longview about 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday (July 15).

The female victim, 21, was shot one time and was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending notification to family members.  The male victim also suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J.M. De La Cruz and Senior Police Officer J. Selvera reported:

Houston patrol officers were called to the scene at the request of Houston Fire Department personnel who had found a female dead inside the residence.  Firefighters told HPD officers that a Hispanic male shot himself in their presence while they were assessing the female’s condition. 

The investigation is continuing.
