Fatal Shooting at 8801 South Braeswood

January 12, 2008 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 8801 South Braeswood about 11:50 p.m. on Friday (Jan. 9).

The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Countryman and J. Wyers, Senior Police Officer R. Martinez and Officer J. Gunter reported:

The victim got into an argument with an unknown suspect and at some point during the argument the suspect produced a firearm and shot at the victim. The victim was struck once and then he fled from the apartment parking lot to a strip center parking lot at 8900 South Braeswood where he collapsed.
