Investigation Into Infant's Death at 10522 Beechnut

February 10, 2008 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of an infant at 10522 Beechnut about 7 a.m. today. 

The female victim, Latavia Oates, five months of age, showed no signs of apparent wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. R. McGalin and Senior Police Officer D. W. Arnold reported: 

Baby Latavia was found in bed, deceased early this morning.  Further investigation determined she suffered from an existing medical condition. 

The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine baby Latavia’s cause of death.
