Fatal Traffic Accident at 700 Greens

December 28, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 700 block of Greens Road about 2 a.m. on Thursday (Dec. 24).

The identity of the female victim, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer L. Hill reported:

A Buick Regal was traveling eastbound on Greens Road when the driver of an H2 Hummer, traveling northbound on Imperial Valley, ran a red light and collided with the Buick in the intersection. The female victim, a passenger in the Buick was ejected and died at the scene. A second passenger who was ejected was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition. A third passenger in the Buick was also transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition. The driver of the Buick was transported to LBJ Hospital in an unknown condition. The driver of the Hummer fled the scene on foot before emergency personnel arrived at the scene.
