Fatal Traffic Accident at 1500 Antoine

December 28, 2009 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1500 Antoine about 4:20 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 26).

The male driver, 47, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Brown and Officer J. Ortiz reported:

The driver of a blue Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck was northbound on Antoine when he struck a fire hydrant and then a curb, causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. A female passenger was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
