Fatal Shooting at 15700 Eastex Freeway

December 28, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female at 15700 Eastex Freeway (U.S. Highway 59 North) about 3 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 26).

The female victim, Sashe Gray, 19, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W.J. Anthony and Senior Police Officer C.T. Hufstedler reported:

Ms. Gray was riding in the passenger seat of a vehicle traveling southbound on the Eastex Freeway when an unknown number of suspects in another vehicle, also traveling southbound, opened fire. Three vehicles, including the one in which Ms. Gray was riding, were struck by the gunfire. Gray was the only person wounded in this incident.

The suspects fled the scene in a dark four-door vehicle.
