Investigation Into Fatal Shooting at 12411 Kuykendahl

December 7, 2009 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 12411 Kuykendahl about 2:10 a.m. on Sunday (Dec. 6).

The victim, Cavondray Namon Smith, 23, of Humble, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers J. Selvera and D. Vasquez reported:

Patrol officers responding to reports of shots being fired discovered the victim, Mr. Smith, lying in the median. Witnesses told police that a white 4-door Chevrolet Impala was observed fleeing at a high rate of speed on Kuykendahl before turning west onto Rankin Road. Witnesses also stated that Smith was arguing with the suspect prior to the shooting.

The suspect is described only as a black male, about 27 years old, wearing a large baggy black T-shirt with gold lettering and baggy blue jeans.
